Terra Exspira at Repair the World

[My blog has moved right into my website, at www.usandweart.com/blog]

This week I have a show opening at Repair the World and it's all new work and you should come!

us and we art terra exspira
Terra Exspira

As humans push each other between our desires to sustain and protect our home, and our desires to keep the comforts of consumerism in our increasingly complicated lives, we are watched by the ghosts of a patient earth. What does the battle look like to the land, water, and creatures that hold us up?

Artist Joey Hartmann-Dow (Us & We Art) brings these Earth Haunts into our own space, asking us how we would act differently if we were being watched by the rivers and forests instead of Google and Facebook. Terra Exspira gives breath to the forgotten witnesses to our actions.

The opening reception is 6-8pm on Friday, June 26, at Repair the World 4029 Market St., Philadelphia. The show will run through September.

Joey's Epic Roadtrip Sale

Hey Friends-- I am so lucky to be able to travel around with my canine friend for 2 weeks, visiting people I love and creating stories along the way. ISN'T THAT GREAT??
To celebrate how rad this is, I'm having an Epic Roadtrip Sale in my online shop. You get super affordable rad prints and cards, and I get some help paying for gas and food and stuff. Everybody wins.
I'm planning on stopping in:
Rochester, NY  •  Ithaca, NY  •  Berlin, CT  •  Somerville, MA  •  Tamworth, NH
If you are in one of these great places and would like me to deliver something, please let me know so I can be sure to bring it!
Thanks so much, starshines. Check the facebook during the "tour" for pics of me and the pup, and anything ridiculous we might see.
P.S. EVERYTHING is on sale-- two cards for $6?? I'm crazy. Buy everything before I realize it.
P.P.S. EVERYTHING is flat-rate $2.00 shipping. Buy everything.

Go West! Fall 2014

Hey all-- I'm lucky enough to be vending at the Go West! Craft Fest again this fall, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's this Saturday UPDATE: had to use the rain-date, which is Sunday!

Do yourself a favor and check it out-- it's my favorite craft fair. The location is wonderful and the vendors are spectacular. If you are in the area I would love to see you there.

Here I am selling at the Spring 2014 Go West:

#YesAllWomen

#YesAllWomen
#YesAllWomenLive

This speaks to this sudden movement / shuffle / burst
of energy and stories speaking out against misogyny and male violence,
all the gender issues we've forgotten about, and normalized.

Not All Men are rapists.
Yes All Women live with the threat of being raped.

If you are in Philadelphia, please come to a speak out / art out event this weekend:

#YesAllWomen LIVE - Philly
Saturday 5/31
4 PM - Meet at Clark Park
West Philadelphia

Please use this graphic for #YesAllWomen sensible use,
but don't make money off of it.

First moments in Seattle

INSANITY: I have been living in Seattle for a little more than a month now.  The weather so far has actually been gorgeous so I'm preparing to be very disappointed.

I have two shows coming up and I am excited about both of them;

The first is called Pancakes & Booze-- which is a raging underground art show that started in L.A. but now takes place in major cities across the country. All you can eat pancakes and rad art? Yes please. I will have three pieces showing there next weekend, 9/28.

Rochester friends: I have the feeling it will be something like ArtAwake. ...I intend to post pictures but am sorely missing my camera! Please forgive me for phone pics.
The second is a solo show at Revolution Books in Pioneer Square, with an opening reception on First Thursday as part of the Art Walk. It's called MAPS FOR SOME US and will be featuring some classic map creature action.

And you're right-- I didn't haul any artwork with me on my bike this summer (except my sketchbook) so I am making ALL NEW WORK for these ! Which is awesome. I just hope it doesn't all get wet. Seattle joke! (It rains here.)

Peace.

Spring on 4th

I'll have a table to sell art at Spring on 4th on the South Side of Bethlehem tomorrow, from 11 am - 3 pm ! Come visit please!

It should be fun-- it coincides with the annual Chili contest
AND Earth Day(s) on the Greenway.

I'll be set up right by Molly's at 4th and New.

And I've got a slew of new map creatures to share, so definitely come check it out!

Lucky Bee & a Strange Bird

Oh hey! I can't believe how busy I've been with art! What a lucky bee.

The CLUW show was very successful and lots of fun,
plus I met a bunch of awesome people.

I'll be at two art fairs in April-- one in Philly and one in Bethlehem.
And guess what. They are on the same day! Watch how I manage that...
(Details soon)

Meanwhile I've been working on a few commissions.
Check out this phone case I just painted:

Have a great week, everybuddy!
